About this piece:
This image shows “Yellow Chamber” and a sister piece “Inner Chamber” together. These pieces are part of a series of work with hollow spaces. Not essentially utilitarian as containers but exploring the idea of discovery. I imagine the excitement of an Archeologist upon opening an ancient tomb to be confronted by the mystery of it’s emptiness.
In the “Inner Chamber” the sent of cedar wood on the unfinished interior further communicates the mystery of the space.
